Modern Egyptian Architecture

An architectural image from Veritas Imaging’s Egypt collection which shows a detail of the exterior roof of the Library of Alexandria in Egypt. This digital image shows a detail of the roof which consists of small blocks of colored glass placed along the edge of the bay.

The Library of Alexandria complex is located in the Alexandria Delta region of Egypt. This building was designed and construction began in 1995 and was completed in 2001. It is a stunning example of modern glass and aluminum architecture in Egypt. The Project won the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2004. At the current time we have one other view showing the interior of the Library of Alexandria, and will be adding more in the future of modern architecture in Egypt..

Architects responsible for this project included: Kjetil Thorsen (b. 1958 – ), Craig Dykers (b. 1961 – ), Christoph Kapeller (b.1956 – ) and the chief engineer was Mamdouh Hamza.

This architecture image has been cropped and is shown in low resolution for the Veritas Imaging website. It is available as a single image or as part of a set of architecture images from Egypt.
