This photograph is of the Reading Room in the Alexandria Library, looking towards the Clerestory accommodated in the bent aluminum panels of the roof bays.
The Alexandria Library is a concrete, glass and aluminum structure and was designed by the Snohetta Hamza Consortium, including the architects Kjetil Thorsen (b. 1958 – ), Christoph Kapeller (b.1956 – ), Craig Dykers (b. 1961 – ) and the engineer Mamdouh Hamza.
The design of the Library Building won the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2004.
