The Roman Odeon in Kato, Paphos

The Roman Odeon, in Kato Paphos, Cyprus, is shown in this architecture image from the Cyprus architecture collection. This is the archaeological site, in Paphos, Cyprus. It has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Dated the late 2nd – 4th century A.D., from the Roman Imperial Period. Originally constructed of carefully hewn limestone blocks and has been greatly restored in modern times. The excavations have been ongoing since 1973. Since 1995, the University of Sydney has been involved in yearly campaigns.

This photograph shows the view across the agora or marketplace towards the Odeon, a small theatre.
